2013 – Catalonia

IYCamp Catalonia 2013 was an awesome camp with a beautiful group of young people at the foot of the northern Catalonian Pyrenees. The camp, full of unique experiences such as a hike through the hills and one of the higher mountains of the region, filled us all with excitement while there, and sadness when leaving it behind.

Our theme this year was (In)dependency. Clearly linked to the political and geographical surroundings of the camp, the theme also offered other, more personal, dimensions of the concept of independence, giving us all the opportunity to think, to talk, to share and to feel the theme around us.

A daytrip to a touristy beachtown provided us with a refreshing culture shock, while splashing around in the Mediterranean. And a beautiful concert for the inhabitants of the village next to the campsite gave us the chance to give something back and thank the local people for their hospitality with four-voiced delight.

We would like to thank all our participants from Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Scotland, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea and Sweden who came with us to Catalonia and made this years IYCamp possible.

We are very much looking forward to the next camp!
