Sweden

Sweden is a country where the wind blows across the mountains, the water streams through the rivers and lakes, the sun beats down upon the meadows and the silver moon casts its light into the dark forests.

One of the exciting things about Sweden for the IYC is that it is allowed to camp everywhere so we can pick the most beautiful spot to pitch our white marquee.

  • Sweden covers an area of 449,964 km2 of which 8.7% is water
  • Wildlife flourishes in Sweden with many Moose or Elk, Rabbits, Deer, Seals and Birds. The less common animals include Brown Bear, Wolves, Lynxes, Golden Eagles and Beavers.
  • Sweden is located in Scandinavia in northern Europe. It borders with Denmark, Norway and Finland
  • The Climate is temperate with distinct seasons. The average temperature in August is around 20°c.
  • Sweden is a democracy but also has a Monarchy headed by King Carl XVI
  • Currency is Swedish krona
