Dear participant,
Within a few weeks from now we will meet in the Julische Alps in Slovenia! We are very much looking forward to welcome you on our lovely campsite! In this itinerary you will find a packing list, a route description, the address of the campsite, information about how to find a participants list on the website and additional valid information.
The camp starts on Monday August 4th at 14:00h and it will end on Monday August 18 at 14:00h. We strongly request you to plan your arrival and departure in a way that we can start and finish the camp together. Should you not be able to arrive or depart at the indicated date and time, please contact us.
Workshops: A substantial part of the daily program is allocated to the workshops. The workshops will take place in the morning and last for two ours. Some of the workshops we had in the last years; Theatre, Martial arts, Land art & Poetry, Cooking, Sport, Camp Newspaper, Drawing and Philosophy.
This list gives you an impression of the possible workshops during the camp. We invite you to facilitate your own workshop. If you have an idea and want to do a workshop please contact our workshop facilitator Anna Henkes (

List of requirements:- Passport (+visa if necessary) and insurance papers
- Money (pocket)
- Clothing for fourteen days (including warm clothes)
- Tent and mattress
- Sleeping bag
- Solid walking boots and woollen socks (the best during the hike, sport shoes are not appropriate)
- Plates, cup, cutlery, soup-bowl, dish towel
- Towel
- Waterproof rainwear
- Small backpack to take with you during the hike
- Water bottle for the hike
- Toiletries, washing detergent
- Hat, or something else to put on your head
- Sun cream
- Insect repellent
- Flashlight including spare batteries (very important for the evening)
- Literature
- Pencil and paper
- Music instruments (if you like to)
Make sure you mark your personal belongings, they could get lost during the camp.
Parents/attendants:In cases of emergency during the camp we can be reached from August 1 till August 22 on our Slovenian phone number 0038640782879. We might be unable to answer your phone call. In that case please send us a text message or leave a message on our voicemail with an explanation of the situation and your phone number. We will call you back as soon as possible.

Good habits:The simple settings of the camp call for some improvisation and teamwork. English will be the language during the camp. To avoid excesses, we have some good habits:
- Everyone joins in with the program.
- Late arrival or early departure is not possible.
- Alcohol and drugs are not allowed.
- Boys and girls sleep separate.
In case of serious disturbance we reserve the right to send you home.
Insurance and passport number:In your own interest we advise you to take a comprehensive travel insurance including medical health coverage for Slovenia. Without a health insurance you cannot join the hike! Please make sure you send a copy of your health insurance to the IYCamp before July 10th. You can also bring it with you and give it to us on the first day of the camp. Remember, if we do not receive this, you cannot join the hike.
To facilitate possible insurance procedures we strongly advise you to apply for an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Bringing this card can prevent long procedures at the hospital or even having to pay cash for a treatment. Please ask about the EHIC at your insurance company.
Besides your health insurance we need your passport number (document number) for safety and security regulations in Slovenia.
You can enter your passport number on the website by clicking on the right side of the page on “UPDATE APPLICATION”. For this you need to be logged in. On the update application page you might also have to enter other mandatory details.

There are still vacant places in the camp, for every nationality. If you know someone interested in the camp, do not hesitate to inform him or her about the IYCamp. We advise everyone to apply as soon as possible!
