To believe or not to believe
The theme that is central to the 1999 International Youth Camp is To believe or not to believe. In various activities, the theme will pop up: in workgroups, evening discussions, lectures, talks, games, music, art etcetera. And of course we expect the theme to be so inspiring that at night, around the camp fire, cosy talks on the theme will take place.
In contrast to what the title might suggest, we are not planning to proselyte or dogmatise. The open atmosphere and diversity of the group guarantees a vary diverse view on the theme. We will look at factors that influence our belief and disbelief, at parapsychology, at beliefs of ancient cultures, at Neuro Linguistic Programming and at science.
To a large extent, the participants give content te the theme, however we as preparation group have some thoughts on how to approach the seemingly vague realm of To believe or not to believe. |
