Sensation of the Senses
In our everyday life our senses have a lot to cope with. We have nice sensations, bad sensations: the sensation of your loud alarm clock in the morning, the sensation of your breakfast, the smell of hot tea or coffee. In this way I could go on for ages. In fact, this site would be much too small to enumerate all the sensations you have during just one day or even in an hour.
In our daily life we experience a lot of different sensations. Mostly we forget to stop for a while and just look at something more closely (the white of the clover on the field we are running on). Or we are so taken by a sound or an image that we forget all the other sensations we could have (not hearing the teacher because you are gazing at the clouds which are strangely shaped).
In this camp we want to explore our sensations, the color, the smell, the sound of our surroundings, in our case the Spanish Pyrenees. But we also want to feel the sensation of the person next to us, during singing, talking, working together in the workshops and the sensation of the silence of the others at night.
But what we shouldn’t forget is the sensation of ourselves as the ones who are sensing. We are all sensing beings. But what is this sensing, and where: in our hands, noses and ears, in our mind?
Hopefully we will discover new sensations: the sounds of the mountains, the colors of the morning, the smell of our shoes after the hike. Wait till you awake to your own sensing, the sense-experience of the others, the sensation of a group of young people in the mountains of Spain, having a great time! |
