The campsite is located in the Slovenian Alps named the Julische Alps. This is a spectacular area of high mountains, deep valleys and crystal clear springs and rivers. Since 1995 a big part of the Slovenian Alps is appointed to be a National Park, called the Triglav National Park. This park is one of three National Parks in Slovenia, and it is by far the biggest one. The name Triglav is derived from the highest mountain (2864m) of Slovenia, which can be found in this particular National Park. The park, that’s mainly occupied by snowy mountains, is well protected and extremely beautiful. The many deep valleys and beautiful sites make it an outstanding hiking place.
Bled, situated 5 km from the campsite, is a beautiful little city with a little more then 11.000 inhabitants. It is located at the bank of the Blejsko Jezero Lake which is fed by the Sava Dolinka river. The city has two famous eye catchers: a little island with a beautiful chapel in the middle of the lake and an impressive castel on top of a hill. From the lake of Bled the river Sava Bohinjka slowly makes its way into the Triglav National Park. Following this river you will find yourself in the middle of the high mountains.
At the banks of this river our campsite is situated, two big fields divided over two different levels of height. We will make ourselves feel at home by building up our tents, a kitchen tent, a social area and our biggest tent: the White Marquee! After this, plenty of space will still be there for sports, games, workshops and fun and the river is a guarantuee for a refreshing dive! |
